Persia Grill BGC

It’s time for Lunch again and we’ve always hunt the 31st street looking for a place to eat aside from jollibee, KFC and Mcdo Hahahaha… Then We saw Persian Grill, it hasn’t been a problem with us to try new restaurants. Popo and I are very adventurous when it comes to food hunt.

About Persia Grill

Persia Grill was conceptualized out of the Kazemi family’s hobby and penchant for good food and good taste. Kian Kazemi, the eldest son of the family a graduate of Hotel Restaurant & Institutional Managemet in De Lasalle Colege of St. Benilde and dreamed of being a great restaurateur. Kian is very fond of living a healthy lifestyle: exercise and healthy food. His love for this healthy food is well complimented by Persian food to which he owes part of his roots.
Originally a family hobby of cooking fine foods turned into a business with the opening of Persia Grill Valero on April 2007. The fear of having a hard time to market Persian and Mediterranean food fusion was quickly transformed into a state of panic (in the kitchen that is!) and the rest is history!

The Persia Grill was surprisingly swarmed by patrons across different band of classes. Transcending financial, social and (even) geographic barriers, Persia Grill was quickly in the hearts (and stomach) of office workers, chefs, CEO’s, ambassadors & consul’s, call center agents and many others.

CHOOSING NUTRITIOUS PET TREATS

What a better way to show you care than by giving your pet a delicious treat? Pet owners love showing affection by giving treats and there are thousands of varieties to choose from. How do you choose a nutritious treat?

Pet owners tend to give too many treats. This introduces many extra calories into a pet’s diet and may cause obesity. Obesity contributes to a wide range of health problems from arthritis to diabetes and obese pets live shorter lives.

Also, treats are not a complete and balanced like pet food and should not be used as the primary source of calories. Treats should make up no more than 10% of your pets daily calories. If you tend to over fed them with treats they are more likely to skip their meal.

It is important to give your pet treats at the right time. Never for begging or whining but a reward for training or after exercise. When choosing treats, avoid those that are filled with sugar (corn syrup, molasses, fructose etc.) Salt, artificial coloring and flavorings or preservatives. There are many commercial treats are designed in color and appearance to appeal to pet owners, but most of these treats are poorly nutritious.

Consider:

•Treats that are meat based with no artificial ingredients. You can also use human foods as a treat but only lean meat and unseasoned.

•Fruits, veggies and even ice cubes as great natural alternatives to commercial treats.

•Any minimally processed natural treat that is low in calories, low in fat and high in protein.

Choose the right and healthy treats for your adorable pets.

PHÓ HŌA a taste of Vietnamese

Pho Hoa Noodle Soup restaurants specialize in naturally flavored and healthy soups. Each bowl of soup is carefully prepared with a variety of meat toppings and accompanied with fresh coriander leaves, bean sprouts, hot chili peppers, lemon wedges and basil leaves. Pho Hoa, a conscious choice to a healthy and well-balanced meal! Founded nearly three decades ago on the principles of exceptional value, quality and service, Pho Hoa Noodle Soup operates what is today the largest Vietnamese fast-casual dining chain in the world. Overview Credit to ~http://www.phohoa.com/company.html

I was 1st year high school when I first tried Vietnamese food in Palawan. They have a small Vietnamese village there and It was my Dad’s Idea to try their food. Now after so many years I get to try  Vietnamese cuisine again. There were so many food to choose from noodle soup to salads and etc. I ordered Fresh spring roll and Beef stew with bread while Popo tried the string beans with ground pork and shrimps and extra rice  :-)

We had a great dinning experience here at Pho Hoa. Definitely Popo and I will try their noodles next time.

International Women’s Day

Happy Women’s Day Everyone!
Relax, enjoy and spoil yourself today.

International Women’s Day (IWD), originally called International Working Women’s Day, is marked on March 8 every year.[1] The first national Women’s Day was observed on 28 February 1909 in the United States following a declaration by the Socialist Party of America. In different regions the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women to a celebration for women’s economic, political and social achievements. Started as a Socialist political event, the holiday blended in the culture of many countries, primarily Eastern Europe, Russia, and the former Soviet bloc. In some regions, the day lost its political flavor, and became simply an occasion for men to express their love for women in a way somewhat similar to a mixture of Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day. In other regions, however, the political and human rights theme designated by the United Nations runs strong, and political and social awareness of the struggles of women worldwide are brought out and examined in a hopeful manner.

28 and Counting..

birthday

"Another year to celebrate good life,  to enjoy another year knowing that God is at work in my life to accomplish his will. I eagerly anticipated it each year, knowing it's  my special day, I got to eat my favorite foods, have fun with my family and friends, receive presents and specially blow out the candles on my cake. It's more to that, I'll  get another year to be thankful for good life with my family and friends. Today, it was drizzling outside while I'm typing this and I see it as a shower of blessing for my Special day." ~ilikesweet

Chicken Charlie

Chicken Charlie, BGC The Fort

Chicken Charlie is the home of the soy garlic double-fried chicken that’s lip-smackingly good. In 2010, Chicken Charlie was the first brand of double-fried chicken to be introduced in Manila. Inspired by similar restaurants in the U.S. and Korea, it offered Filipinos a unique take on a favorite dish. Before long, one store became two, then four, and then even more, reaching a grand total of 16 stores by the end of 2012.

Casa Verde

image

Casa Verde, Cebu City

Casa Verde was established in August 2002, is a chain of family-owned restaurants in Cebu City. Spanish for 'green house', Casa Verde's name was influenced by the owners' Spanish roots and the color of the Ramos Branch, which used to be one of the family's ancestral homes.

We ate here twice, we ordered the house special Brian’s Ribs and it was delicious. The meat is so tender and the servings are huge.  We also tried their death by chocolate dessert. The second time Popo still ordered the ribs and I tried the shrimps and steak! Hands down for their super affordable menu.  Service is fast and the crew is efficient. Money spent well, definitely will be back if we visit Cebu City again!

image

Brian's Ribs

If you taste me you'll never forget me... Their best seller! Baked pork ribs with a sweet, tangy piquet sauce served with rice and corn and carrots. Imagine this 2pcs. ribs for only 220, If you had this in Manila it would cost you at least 1,ooo.

The Dax

Do you want a piece of me? A combination of USDA round steak drizzled with brown sauce and onions with a catch of tavern shrimps paired with tartar sauce and served with harvest rice and vegetable medley.
5pcs shrimp and 1 medium well stake… oohh yum!

Death By Chocolate

This dessert is to die for—chocolate and nutty rocky road ice cream mixed with chocolate bar bits on a bed of chocolate cookie crust. Drizzled with chocolate syrup.

Toast Box

image

Toast Box

Toast Box was developed in October 2005 to recreate the warm atmosphere of local Nanyang coffee shops of the 60s and 70s. It serves up traditional favourites like peanut toast thick, mee siam, kaya toast and soft-boiled eggs. South-east Asian coffee, the mainstay of the concept, is made the traditional way where it is ‘pulled’ to bring out the flavour. Toast Box started as a food-stall unit of Singapore’s Food Republic Wisma Atria. The first branch in the Philippines was opened in TriNoma last September 2007.

 Mee Siam and Nasi Goreng

image

Toast Box Set (Includes 2 Eggs, Kopi or Teh)

image

Nasi Goreng (Php 185)

Nasi Goreng, literally meaning “fried rice”, can refer simply to fried pre-cooked rice, a meal including stir fried rice in small amount of cooking oil or margarine, typically spiced with kecap manis (sweet soy sauce), shallot, garlic, tamarind and chilli and accompanied with other ingredients. There is also another kind of nasi goreng which is made with ikan asin (salted dried fish). If your a fan of “dilis and bagoong” you should try this.

image

Mee Siam (Php 195)

Mee Siam , (麵暹) which means “Siamese noodle”, is a dish of thin rice noodles (vermicelli) in spicy, sweet and sour light gravy. It is one of the popular one-dish meals in Singapore and Malaysia. Not my kind of food >_< kinda weird taste.

image

Floss Thick Toast Set (Php 160)

Pork Floss on toasted bread with condensed milk drizzled on top. Ooohh so yummy! ☻ Popo loves pork floss this is one of her favorites.

image

Kaya Toast Set (Php 145)

Kaya toast is a popular snack amongst Singaporeans and Malaysians. It consists of kaya, a spread of eggs, sugar and coconut milk and flavored with pandan on toasted or fresh bread.

image

Iced Teh (Php 95)

Nanyang Milk tea Cold.

Horlicks Dinosaur (Php 115)

A conventional Horlicks served with lots of Horlicks powder on top. Horlicks is the name of a company and of a malted milk hot/cold drink, which is claimed to promote sleep when consumed at bedtime. Popo’s favorite! ☻

image

Milo Dinosaur (Php 115)

A chocolate and malt powder, this is just Milo served with lots of Milo powder on top. YUM! super like like ☺♥♥♥

This is a  relaxing place to have breakfast. We love toast box because of the furnishings and almost everything were painted white, so simple but elegant looking. The food is a bit expensive though.  I’m not a fan of Singaporean food, but I love their Floss toast, Horlicks and Milo Dinosaur. Will definitely go back for more Horlicks and Milo Dinosaur. ♥♥♥
